Zlatan Ibrahimovic Edging Towards adidas Boot Deal?

Zlatan Ibrahimovic adidas f50 adizero football boots

Zlatan Ibrahimovic looks to be testing out adidas football boots in training with Paris Saint-Germain as he prepares to put pen-to-paper on his first boot sponsor deal following the expiry of his long-term deal with Nike.

The Swedish striker was a long-term endorsee with the Swoosh up until his return from injury earlier this month; his personal endorsement deal having lapsed during his time on the treatment table.

Now, after training and playing in blacked-out Nike football boots, Zlatan has turned out for training ahead of PSG’s Champions League clash with Ajax in an all-black pair of adidas f50 adizeros.

This choice of football boots is particularly interesting, as French site L’Epique suggested that a deal with PUMA had already been completed, and that Zlatan would move into the evoPOWER silo within the next few weeks.

However, it seems now that adidas are at least trying to persuade the big striker into a move into the Three Stripes, possibly supplying ‘Ibracadabra’ with a pair of all-black f50’s to train in for the time being.

Of course, there are a number of explanations as to why Ibrahimovic would be wearing adidas football boots without officially being approached by adidas – he could even have bought and blacked out the boots himself.

Does an adidas move for Zlatan make much sense? At this stage in Ibrahimovic’s career, probably not.

However, the former Inter Milan and Barcelona man does have an edgy, maverick persona which adidas arguably need a little more of in their marketing – not to mention a cult appeal with supporters of just about any club.

There’s also the link between the Swedish national team and Zlatan; adidas took over from Umbro as official equipment supplier to Sweden earlier this year – and the capture of the captain and all-time leading scorer for the country could have some potentially great synergy, even after Zlatan retires.

Is adidas where Ibra will end up?

i hope Ibrahimovic wears adidas. Adidas needs more representation at the top of the European game. The adiZero F50 would suit him very well.

When i mean that Adidas needs more representation at the top of the European game, i meant the adiZero. Please stop your ridiculous and stupid commenting without knowing the facts.
Plus, do you know that there are many more Nike players at the top than Adidas? Again, old boy, get your facts right.
Stop telling me off when you’re as poor hag in terms of soccer knowledge.

while it would be interesting to see Zlatan in adidas and it makes sense in several ways, I’d be baffled if he chooses the adizero in particular. then again, the newer one seems like the better one they’ve had in a while. he’s still wearing black outs, so i wonder what will come out of this.
