FA Cup finalists Portsmouth continued their fine run of form with an away win at West Ham.

Pompey keeper David James kept Dean Ashton and Bobby Zamora at bay in the first half, although Ashton did get past the England goalkeeper and should have scored when he rounded James only to drag his shot wide from an acute angle.

The visitors took the lead when Croatian Niko Kranjcar collected Sulley Muntari’s ball on the hour, he then spun to drill a low shot beyond Green, for his seventh goal of the season.

Redknapp was delighted with the performance, “To come back after a cup final and play like that shows a lot of character.”
