WAYNE ROONEY FACES FOUR WEEKS OUT

In the dramatic turn of events that no Manchester United or England Fan wanted to see, Wayne Rooney hobbled off the pitch on Tuesday night

As Manchester United lost the match to a spirited Bayern Munich comeback, the focus was shifted largely away from the result and onto the diagnosis of Wayne Rooney’s injury.

In the build-up to Bayern’s late winner Wayne Rooney was trodden on, in a completely accidental manner by Mario Gomez.

Rooney then immediately clutched his foot, signalling urgently to the bench that something was wrong.

Rooney seems to have injured his ankle severely, resulting in a four-week layoff for the striker.

Whilst this is somewhat of a relief for England, but Manchester United will be without their talisman for crucial matches with Chelsea and the return leg of their Bayern Munich clash.
