Watch the World Cup On the Internet

Watch the World Cup InternetThe BBC will be broadcasting all of its World Cup games over
the internet this year, for licence fee payers only. They will also be
providing four minute highlights of every single game, available on demand.

For the first time, you will be able to watch 256kbps streaming coverage of the
World Cup has been available and is already causing concern for some
businesses. If people are watching the World Cup games whilst at work they risk
slowing down the network and causing critical programmes to slow down.

As weekday programmes start from 5:00pm, watching the World Cup on the Internet
will not be as widely used as it would be if the games were broadcast during
the day, as they were during the 2002 World Cup in Korea
and Japan.
