It’s been a while since we’ve brought you any footy game related news here on Footy-Boots.com, so it’s pretty handy that Manchester City have teamed up with EA Sports & FIFA 12 for something that combines our love of football boots, shirts and sponsorships to bring us back into the fold!
Manchester City announced EA Sports as a partner to the club today at EA’s campus in British Columbia as part of City's summer tour activity in Canada, and is one of the first deals of it’s kind in the world of football.
The partnership between Manchester City and EA Sports is said to bring fans closer to the action than ever before, using things like MCFC exclusive content for FIFA, and using both Manchester City and EA Sports communication channels to deliver things like match simulations and previews to fans.
Going beyond publicity, the deal will also see Manchester City become one – if not the – single most accurately represented team in the whole game, with the entire first team squad having undergone 3D, 360-degree headshots and scans to ensure their digital representations are firmly nestled into the uncanny valley.
The first instance of Manchester City exclusive content comes in the form of the video above, one of the first extended cuts of FIFA 12 gameplay, which composes part of the first-ever digital kit launch – showcasing the new Manchester City Home Shirt in stunning detail on stars such as Da Silva, Milner, Kompany and Lescott.
EA’s new video also gives us a great first look at the latest' football boots colourways to hit their new game, including the Black/White/Challenge Red CTR360 II, Adonised Purple/Infrared/Electricity adiZero Prime and the Deep Navy/Volt Laser III -' as well as the first ever look at a virtual adiPower!
