This past weekend saw David Beckham return to competitive football for the first time since March after tearing his Achilles’ tendon.
Superstar Beckham managed around 20 minutes to see out the game as the LA Galaxy triumphed over Columbus Crew 3-1, with Beckham seemingly not having lost any of his technique as he sprayed passes around with abandon and even saw an inspired effort denied by the back of a defenders head!
Becks’ appearance marks the conclusion of a speedy recovery for the ex-England captain, who was told that he’d be out until November after being stretchered off the pitch whilst playing for AC Milan against Chievo.
As usual, we were paying close attention to what was on Beckham’s feet, and once again we can report that Beckham has chosen to stick with his custom Predator_X/ PowerSwerve hybrid football boots, with the upper of his signature adidas Predator_X DB‘s, and the soleplate and heel counter of the older PowerSwerves.
In a post match interview, Beckham revealed his eagerness to get back on the pitch, recalling an exchange with Galaxy coach Bruce Arena after half time:
He came up to me and he said ‹Ĺ›How about 10 to 15 minutes? We want to get a good 10 to 15 minutes, and I was like, ‹Ĺ›Well how about 20-25?˘€žË So he kind of listened to me and we met in the middle and he put me on for 20 minutes.”
We’re thrilled to see Becks’ back, and capping off a victory for the LA Galaxy too. Is it too early to start asking whether he’ll force his way back into the England squad?
Or do you just want talk about Beck’s football boots?
Lets us know what you think in the comments below!
Glad to see Becks back!!!! Love the boots, you can always expect a little style with Becks. I think it’s too early to even think about getting back on the pitch for the 3 Lions.
love those boots, but i hope becks refuses to play for england under capello
i honestly dnt think beckham will get in the starting line up for don capello b4 adam johnson, theo or lennon. for starters he is too old and he plays in a league where the competition is lack lustre. when their league ends, which top team would waste their finances on him. the only thing he can do for a club is sell shirts.two years from now do you think he can play for england in the euros. the man and his p.r company should just give it a rest, and as for him chasing caps he should call it time. the only thing i give him credit for is not turning his back on england unlike some players
the all blacks get a predator/powerswerve hybrid too.so beck aint the only one with them
i don’t care if girls only thinks about his good look and boys hate him for that.
he’s a great player, i grew up watching his passes and free kicks, his loyalty to three lions are undoubted, that guy is my hero. glad to have u back, becks!
