What does it mean to play for Barcelona? Well you couldn’t find a better person to ask than Carlos Puyol, who takes centre stage with young guns Pedro and Thiago as Nike unveil the new Barcelona Home and Away Kits for the 2011-12 season.
As well as the obligatory beauty shots of the new jerseys, all three players discuss what it means to play at the Camp Nou and represent Barcelona.
Puyol & co. don’t hold back when it comes to expressing their love for the Catalan club; describing stepping out in the famous kit as a “dream” and that “every weekend brings a new emotion”. It’s clear that Nike have cherry-picked the very best of the lines from the interviews to give this viral a ‘call to arms’ feel.
Transposed against powerful imagery of the Barca fans and the fortress that is the Camp Nou, the whole video is a fantastic tribute to a club that is arguably at one of it’s most dizzying heights ever at the moment.
Whilst opinion on the new Barcelona Home Kit has been somewhat split, we think this video is definitely one that’ll receive a unanimously-positive reception.
And who knows – if Barca can win another Champions League, then maybe that new home kit will go on to be as loved as much as the new away kit!
