Every so often, we get to do some pretty cool stuff at Footy-Boots.com via our friends at other sports companies. So, when the team at Lucozade Sport told us they were going to do a Q&A session with ex-Aston Villa and Chelsea man turned leading TV Pundit Andy Townsend, and that they wanted us to ask some questions about the equipment of the World Cup – we didn’t hesitate in saying ‘yes’!
We put questions to Andy about the adidas Jabulani ball, the Nike Elite Series football boots and the tactics being used in this year’s biggest footballing event.
If you’d like to hear more from Andy Townsend, or any of the other Lucozade analysts (including Marcel Desailly) make sure you check out the Lucozade Sport Facebook page today and throughout the World Cup!
Nice interview with my favourite pundit!
I completely agree with Andy about the new Nike Elite series. The colourway wasn’t developed to help players find their team mates. As Andy stated a good player is always playing with his head up, well at least that is how I learned to play, these colourways were developed for marketing purposes only.
Completely agree with everything he said 🙂
It was obvious that nike’s orange/ purple colourways are purely for marketing. Your not going to pass to someone just because you see their boots- especially when most players are wearing them! However the elite series does stand out on the pitch and makes nike appear more dominating in the boot market 🙂
