Baselayer giants Under Armour have thrown their hats into the football boots ring with the classically-cool new Under Armour Dominate Pro.
Combining everything we love from our classic football boots (super-comfy, K-Leather, tough as nails) with everything that we come to expect from modern cleats (protective, performance-boosting, packed with tech), the Under Armour Dominate Pro could be the dark horse of the boots-race 2009.
The big selling point of these football boots is the MPZ – or Metatarsal Protection Zone.
Rather than the forefoot being made of the soft, pliable leather like most football boots, the' Under Armour Dominate Pro has a strip of high-strength rubber across the joints of the toes.
The result? A harder-wearing, impact-absorbing area to take the brunt of the force if someone catches the top of your toes by accident (or otherwise!).
As well as the protective aspect, Under Armour Dominate Pro uses 4-D foam in the foot-bed for maximum comfort, and an Armourguide last that keeps the foot in the anatomically-perfect position to reduce unwanted stress.
We’ve had the chance to have a play in these new football boots, and whilst running a little bit wide in the sizing department they are definitely among the most comfortable boots we’ve had the chance to try.
Have you got a pair of the new Under Armour Dominate Pro? What do you think to them?
