UNBOXED: UMBRO SPECIALI 4 – HANDS-ON & FIRST IMPRESSIONS

We unbox the Umbro Speciali 4 and give our first impressions in this hands-on video

There are times when we don’t envy football boot designers. Cleats like the Nike Tiempo, Puma King and Lotto Stadio carry such lofty expectations and legendary names, there’s a lot of weight on their shoulders to make sure any new models they make fit the lineage.

However, one company that never seem to struggle with their most historic boot are Umbro. Since 2008, Umbro have been hitting all the right notes when updating the legendary Speciali.

And having got our mitts on the new Umbro Speciali 4, we’re pleased to say the Cheadle-based brand aren’t showing any signs of ending that hot-streak!

We thought the Speciali 3 was an excellent football boot that came out in a interesting time for Umbro – some players didn’t want to switch from the Speciali R or 2009 Speciali, whilst special edition cleats like the Speciali Elite and Speciali ’92 seemed to cause the 3’s to get a bit lost.

But with the separation from Nike, there’s a feeling of catharsis and' simplicity' about the Umbro brand at the moment – something that’s mirrored in the Speciali 4.

Still, we won’t wax lyrical about Umbro’s latest here (we have to save something for the review, after all!) – so check out the video above to check out some of the key features on this modern classic.
