Umbro’s Vs. Range has always been about the idea of pitting Manchester’s footballing culture against another part of the world, last year it was Sao Paulo, this year it’s Huntington Beach, California.

So, Cheadle-based Umbro really put their money where their mouth is and sent a Manchester-based 5-a-side team across the pond to California, to go and research the Beach Soccer lifestyle, meet the locals and – most importantly – play a few games!

Rather than filming a documentary or doing a photo-blog of their trip. Umbro have once again hired top animator and famous NYC graffiti artist Todd James to put a video to the audio from the boys trip to the golden state!

The result is really funny, and Todd James’ animation does a great job of capturing that ‘fish-out-of-water’ feeling that these boys must be having, surrounded by sun, sand and surf!

Here’s hoping that the Umbro’s Vs. Range returns again next year, as we can’t wait to see where the Umbro 5’s boys get sent next!

Where would you like to see the Umbro’s Vs. Range tackle next? The bright neons of Tokyo? The grit of NYC? Or somewhere closer to home?

Let us know in the comments!
