Umbro reveal a new colourway for their new UX-2 football boot – Gecko Green.
The revamped Umbro UX-2 hit the market this summer and, as we expected, it packed loads of tech into a modest £120 price point.
Well now it is back, this time with a fresh new coat of paint which is destined to draw eyeballs.
The official colourway name is Green Gecko / Dark Navy / Andean Toucan, we’re sticking with Green Gecko from now on.
For those needing a refresh on what you get with a pair of UX-2 football booths, the upper is made from a single-piece of thin light, breathable material. Unlike speed boots, it has a softness to aide your touch to get that ball under control. Also on the vamp of the boot is a 3D printed touch control zone for maximum grip and control.
Don’t mistake the thin light material as an indicator that this is a delicate boot, it’s not. It will take a tackle when you’re in the heat of a game when you need to rely on your footwear.
Support is provided by the Umbro A-Frame, locking your foot down and giving you stability and the dual density heel counter with integrated flex spine will cushion the heel and safeguard your Achilles.
On the underside of the UX-2 the stud configuration is retained from the original incarnation. You’ll find conical studs, including four on the heel and ten on the forefoot.
