Umbro has unveiled next seasons new home and away kits for PSV Eindhoven.
Umbro, the official kit suppliers to PSV for the next five years, launch the new kits for the Eredivisie champions in a campaign titled “Light Up the Future”.
PSV were founded in 1913 as a team for the employees of the electronics company Philips, and as such are referred to as the ‘light bulbs’ and the southern city of Eindhoven is known as the ‘city of light’. The campaign, “Light Up the Future” is therefore a reference to the club’s beginnings.
An approach we admire from Umbro is that the PSV home and away strips are a bespoke Umbro design, they haven’t churned out their standard design and painted new colours on it.
PSV Eindhoven Home Kit 2015-2016
The shirt is in their famous red and white stripes with a black collar and and two concealed buttons. The club crest features two gold stars above it, to symbolise the 22 league titles the club has won.
The back of the home shirt features the club motto in gold – Eendracht Maakt Macht club motto [strength in unity].
The black shorts have a gold trim on the side panels and the red and white hooped socks complete the strip.
PSV Eindhoven Away Kit 2015-2016
The away strip looks like the Umbro designers were high on creative juice when they created this shirt.
The blue base has a diagonal effect created with dark navy horizontal stripes. Coral trim on the rounded collar and shoulders compliments this modern look really well.
Like the home shirt, the back of the shirt features the club motto.
The blueprint shorts feature the fiery coral on the side panels and complements the shirt. The away socks match the shirt with blueprint and navy hoops.
