Umbro release a brand new football boot designed to provide a magic touch, with lightning speed.
Umbro have dropped a completely new boot onto the market, and it’s a bit different.
The Medusae Pro is a football boot which has been designed as a hybrid – that is a boot which is part leather and part synthetic.
It’s been done before I hear you say, well yes and no. Sure, there have been boots that have been launched as synthetic and then a leather version (or part leather) follows, but this one has been built from the ground up as a hybrid, so everything in its design and build is made to excel as a hybrid.
The benefit? Well, as Umbro succinctly put it “The Medusae Pro combines the touch, comfort and fit of premium leather with the ‘speed’ of a lightweight boot.“
The upper features the best leather for football boots, K-Leather, and the leather is in all the key, high contact areas.
The mid-foot zone is where you will find the synthetic mesh cage – this is how Umbro are cutting down on additional weight – placing lightweight materials where there is no ball contact.
Umbro’s renowned A-Frame is built into the mesh cage, this is what keeps your foot locked down and helps stabilise you on the pitch.
Leather features again on the heel tab, below which is an external heel counter.
On the flipside, the outsole of the boot uses the popular and Velocita soleplate, where you’ll find the one-piece lightweight soleplate with unique stud configuration.
