Umbro revisit a classic as they get ready to unleash the Umbro GT II Pro – Green / Carbon / White!
Harking back to the Lime version of the original GT Pro, the Umbro GT II Pro' – Green / Carbon / White' are a colour combo that will certainly stand out on the pitch (despite being the same colour as the grass!)!
When it comes to colourways, the Umbro GT' has seen a fair few corkers, with the recent Purple / Acid Green and Silver / True Red being real stand-outs.
But as good as they were, we don’t think they come close to topping the' Umbro GT II Pro' – Green / Carbon / White' which really ups the ante in terms of visibility!
And so it should, when it launched in late 2011, the Umbro GT’s tagline was ‘Who Dares, Wins’ – a very apt motto for a speed boot that doesn’t necessarily stick to convention.
Whilst it does boast a synthetic Teijin leather upper, the Umbro GT II Pro' is also one of the few speed boots that sits above 200g in the weight stakes.
Is this a bad thing? Not necessarily; for the extra weight, Umbro pack in additional texturing on the forefoot and instep for better grip in wet weather – and the soleplate will remind old-school boot-heads of the early Nike T90 Lasers – except the GT’s pack a carbon fibre shank in the toe for a a better elastic return on each step.
The GT II' is also one of the few speed boots we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to wide-footed players. When we reviewed them at the start of the year, we found that the roomy toe-box and flat lasting board under the toes made the GT’s a great option for anyone that’s struggled to squeeze their toes into a Vapor down the years.
For anyone that wants to pick up a pair of the Umbro GT II Pro' – Green / Carbon / White, October 15th is the big day, and £90 ' / $140 is the price tag.
Fanatstic boots !
again, very nice color (i loved the skyblue/orange one), and great price. and for me not everything has to be under 200g, idk if the difference can be felt even….
