As Nike and adidas have both revamped their ‘control’ football boots ranges recently, Umbro are content with just a colourway update as they get ready to roll out the Umbro Geometra – Black / White / Red.
Spotted on the feet of Jonas' Gutierrez, Diego Capel and a select number of other players (including England & Manchester City No. 1 Joe Hart, though we imagine he might try to avoid this' devilishly' red' and black colourway!), the Umbro Geometra' has quickly established itself as one of the best new silos in recent history.
A ceramic leather upper offers the touch and feel of K-Leather, whilst the instep and forefoot both contain specially-designed zones for improved contact on the ball when passing and receiving, the Geometra' is also one of the most comfortable and secure-fitting boots on the market.
The sole of the boot is also one of it’s more unique points; inspired by a squash show, three special studs form a circle under the ball of the foot to ease strain on the knees when making tight, sharp turns.
When we reviewed the boot just after it’s launch, we found it more than loved up to it’s lofty claims – and for the price you can buy the older colourways at, it’s one of the best-value boots on the market.
But looking at this colourway, you might just be tempted to splash the cash – as it’s seriously good looking!' Reminiscent' of the launch colourway of White / Black / Risk Red, the Umbro Geometra' – Black / White / Red' is a colourway we can imagine many players will appreciate.
One nice point of difference to other Geometra ' colourways so far is the two-tone instep, with the midfoot acting as a dividing line between the contrasting Black forefoot and white heel.
If you fancy a pair of the Umbro Geometra' – Black / White / Red, they’re available to pre-order now ahead of an October 15th launch – and should set you back around £90 / $150.
