English football brand Umbro will lead the way in the Premiership next season, as they sponsor the shirts of six teams competing – more than any other sports brand.
Birmingham, Blackburn, Everton, Sunderland, West Ham and Wigan will all run out on the first day of the season sporting the famous double diamond logo on their shirts. Umbro have had a constant presence in the Premiership since it’s conception in the early 90’s and continuing with this fine tradition these six clubs will contest an amazing 60 Premiership games between them next season in which the Umbro football shirt brand will feature exclusively.
6 of the Best
Umbro’s Director of Football, Simon Marsh said “As the authentic Football brand we are delighted to be working with all these great clubs and wish them all the best for the forthcoming season. It will be fantastic to see them all run out wearing Umbro kit when the season starts in August.”
Umbro are committed to supporting football at all levels and as well as partnerships with top Premiership clubs and players they continue to work with teams and players at the grass root level of the game.
The first trophy won by a team in an Umbro kit was way back in 1934 when Manchester City won the FA Cup. These successes have continued the world over since then and French side Lyon were the most recent addition to the list when they lifted Ligue 1 just a few months ago also wearing Umbro.
