UMBRO PRESENTS: THE ENGLAND AWAY COLLECTION

Umbro are releasing a full range of classy clobber to compliment the all-new, all-blue England Away Shirt when it releases on the 10th of August, and we’ve got a sneak peak of what we can expect!

New England Away Shirt - 2011

Starting the range in the most logical place is the away kit itself; which will be worn by the England senior squad for the first time against Holland on August 10th.

The 2011 edition of the England Away Shirt sees a return to blue ” a colour which is synonymous with England and was first worn by the England team in the 1930s and also from the blue caps given to England players as well as the original British passports, which were navy in colour. A definite clever touch by Umbro, with passports meaning travel and this being the away kit!

Rather than being all-navy, the new England Away Shirt features a smart regatta blue pop out collar, detail inherent in Umbro football tailoring, whilst combining the performance elements required for the modern game.

Lightweight and breathable, the shirt uses mesh technology throughout the body and sleeves to increase the air flow to the body, updating a style that was first introduced in 1970 for the Mexico World Cup. The shirt is made using full polyester on the inside to help draw sweat away from the body and features a cotton outer to provide a smart appearance.

śMyself and the England lads can't wait to pull the new England Away kit on for the first time against Holland. Representing your country is one of the greatest honours for a player. Looking good gives you confidence on the pitch and it is great to have a new look with the navy blueť commented England captain John Terry.

England manager Fabio Capello commented: śBlue is a strong colour and one which is part of the history and future of the England team. We face many difficult fixtures away from home this year and it is important for the team to look smart on and off the pitch.ť

The on-pitch range will include two new versions of Umbro’s modern-classic; the Anthem jacket.

Ensuring a sense of pride and togetherness when the Three Lions stride out onto the pitch, all players will wear the navy version, whilst coaching staff will wear the regatta blue version that matches new England Away Shirt‘s collar.

Tailored to compliment the kit and provide comfort for the players, the anthem jacket stays in line with the sense of smartness provided by the new kit and will be worn when the squad walk out onto the pitch

In keeping with its tailoring heritage, Umbro has continued to provide shirts in chest sizes so that each England fan can experience a tailored fit.

The new England Away Shirt and on-pitch collection are available to pre-order now, and will go on sale August 10th 2011.

Agreeing with you man. Umbro knock out loads of clobber with the England kits, which I am sure is only sold at discounted rates in sports direct a few months later.
      Why do they bother?
