Hot on the heels of snatching Steven Pienaar from rivals adidas, Puma have officially unveiled New York Red Bulls star Thierry Henry will now officially wear Puma football boots!

Thierry Henry switches to Puma football boots

The Frenchman has endured as an icon, on and off the pitch (he currently sits atop the MLS scoring charts) and Puma hope that the World Cup winner will bring some ‘va-va-voom’ (Yes, we’re still making that joke) to their presence in the North American market.

With Nike being an American brand with storied history and sponsorship of the National team and adidas being official technical supplier to the MLS, there’s very little room for Puma to make inroads in the growing American football boots market, but having Henry in their line-up will definitely do them no harm.

As you all know, we at go the extra mile to get the information that matters most, and Puma have told us that Thierry Henry will likely wear the Puma v1.11 speed football boots, rather than the classic King Finales he wore in the MLS All-Star game against Manchester United on Wednesday night.

We think the Puma v1.11 are a great fit for the man whose terrifying pace still sees him top the all-time scoring charts for both Arsenal and France, and can’t wait to see him take to the pitch in them!

Expect to see plenty of the former Barcelona man strutting his stuff in Puma gear off the football pitch, too. As a keen sneaker enthusiast, Puma will be enlisting Henry’s help in advertising all their latest kicks from their Sports-Lifestyle stable, too!

Thierry Henry switches to Puma football boots

After watching adidas snatch up so many stars last summer on the back of the adiZero’s launch, we’ve got serious love for Puma who are biting back with signings a-plenty this summer!

Will it be strange to see Thierry Henry in Puma football boots?

Or is the four-time EPL Golden Boot winner a perfect fit for the German brand?
