The Players Tottenham Should Buy This Summer

Ex-Spurs Legend Graham Roberts On Tottenham’s Summer of Transfers

As the season closes, the football clubs begin their search for new players and a clear out of players surplus to requirements. Much of the attention this week is focused on Tottenham, with rumours of a big money buy-out from yet another American billionaire! But on the field is where the changes need to happen, and Footy Boots spoke exclusively to former Spurs legend, Graham Roberts to get the inside view.

Footy Boots asked Graham his thoughts on the potential £10million signing of Gareth Bale. “Gareth is a fantastic left back,” said Graham. “He is a great bet for the role of England left back in the future, so if true, its a great signing.” But Graham didn’t stop there – “Tottenham need more than a left back, they need a decent centre half, one or two midfielders AND a striker. But this signing is a good step in the right direction”.

Graham also gave us his thoughts on the potential transfer of Dimitar Berbatov to Manchester United for £40million. “Everybody’s got their price, and that money cannot be ignored by any club, ” said Graham “but I’m not too keen on Saha coming the other way on the deal – I’d prefer John O’Shea!”.

As always, straight talking from the Spurs hardman, and if you want to hear more from Graham and other Tottenham legends Dave Mackay, Pat Jennings and Steve Perryman there is a special evening’s entertainment, dinner and chat being held on Saturday 9th June. It promises to be a five star evening and includes a question and answer session with the stars all hosted by tv’s Mark Burdis.

Doesn’t Gareth Bale already play for Wales and therefore cannot play for England?
