Sven Goran Eriksson’s future at Manchester City has been thrown into doubt following City owner and chairman Thaksin Shinawatra’s ambiguous comments.
Following weekend speculation that Sven would be replaced with Portugal’s manager Luiz Felipe Scolari, the press have been trying to follow up on the story.
Thaksin Shinawatra was in Dubai this week when reporter’s questioned the former Thai prime minister on the subject of the club.
There are no plans at the moment (on Sven’s job).
We will have to evaluate at the end of the season.
I’m not happy with the performance of the club in the second half of the season.
We will look at it at the end of the season and assess the club and the people involved.
We’ll probably have to sell some players and buy some new ones.
We need some defenders and midfielders. Midfielders are the key. We have some good players but we need more.
