SPAIN AND TORRES TOO STRONG FOR N.Z.

Spain got their Confederations Cup campaign off to a scintillating start after crushing New Zealand 5 – 0 in their opening encounter.

The goal rush was led by Liverpool striker Fernando Torres who completed a first half hat trick wearing the Nike Total 90 Laser II in the new Orange Blaze / Black colourway.

In what was Spain’s 33rd game without defeat, Torries hit the net 3 times in the opening 20 minutes, first curling in a shot from the edge of the box before sidefooting home a second and heading a third.

A tidy passing move was then finished off by Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas before David Villa ended the scoring with a fifth goal in the second period.

In the days other opening game, hosts South Africa drew 0 – 0 with Iraq.

Today it’s the turn of the teams in Group B with Brazil playing Egypt and the USA up against Italy.

It was a good game. Fernando Torres getting a hat trick early. NZ defense was terrible. They had chances to score off of free kicks but didn’t convert.
