Bad news arrived for England keeper Rob Green’s sponsor Sells today
Huddersfield-based Sells announced today that it will make an undisclosed number of it’s workforce redundant in the coming weeks.
Founded by former Crystal Palace goalkeeping coach Adam Sells has explained that the loss in demand has seen the company switch it’s method of supply.
Rather than selling bulk-lots of it’s product to large stores such as JJB Sports, Sells will switch it’s distribution method to an online-only method with no middleman, reports say.
The news will set off alarm bells for many, as NOMIS made a similar switch to direct distribution, mere months before declaring the football boot business was no longer viable.
Sells, however, have an ace in the hole. The company can boast 10,000 preorders for the gloves that Robert Green was wearing on Monday night against Mexico – which the anticipate will begin shipping in June
It’s always a whole-hearted shame to see a good, honest company like Sells in trouble – drop us a comment if you have used Sells in the past, or were planning on buying a pair sometime soon.

this is a major bummer for me. i had 4 or 5 pairs about two years ago, and they were way better than what adidas, nike, or reusch offer. unfortunately they are super tough to find stateside, and now it looks even harder. hopefully they have the momentum and support in the epl and championship to pull them through, something nomis never had…
