IS SANTI CAZORLA WARRIOR’S NEXT TARGET?

Whilst official signing news from the Warrior Football camps seems to have gone quiet since blowing up with Jonas & Fellaini pre-Christmas, there’s been plenty of speculation to keep boot-spotters and fans of the brand happy at the start of 2013.

Since spying Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany in the Skreamer S-Lite earlier this month, Arsenal’s summer signing Santi Cazorla has also been sampling another of Warrior’s boots.

The Spanish star took to training ahead of this weekend’s FA Cup fixtures wearing a blacked-out pair of the Skreamer K-Lite.

Normally an adidas adiPure man, it’s no surprise to see Cazorla in the K-Leather version of Warrior’s debut boots; the tricky midfielder’s deft touch and eye for a pass are perfectly complimented by a natural leather cleat.

Unlike the first time we saw the Skreamer in testing – on the feet of Newcastle’s Jonas Gutierrez last year – we had no idea what they might have been. However, now Warrior’s range are out in the open, we can see all the distinctive design features that mark this as a Warrior boot.

Those who hoped for a surprise competitive debut this weekend though will have found themselves disappointed. The former Malaga winger opted for his adiPure 11pro against Brighton in the Cup, wearing the White/Red/Black colourway with a personal embroidery on the instep (usually a sign a player is still having their boots made by a brand).

We don’t think there’s a football fan in England who hasn’t been impressed with Cazorla’s debut season in the Premier League, so Warrior would definitely see this as a huge step forward for their roster of players if they could snag the Spaniard from adidas’ noses.

The nimble 28-year old would also add some attacking impetus to Warrior’s decidedly defensive contracted players, and be a big loss for adidas, who have seen their number of adiPure wearers diminish since the arrival of the F50 and control-refocus of the Predator.

Could you see Santi being snapped up by Warrior?

would be a nice switch move for Cazorla. although I haven’t worn the adipure, it doesn’t look as aesthetically pleasing as the Skreamer K, and I’m not even sure if they will continue having it in K leather for much longer.
and by the way, Warrior are expanding and expanding. last week they just expanded into South America and Asia, now licensing (not manufacturing though) the kits of CS Emelec of Ecuador and manufacturing those of Sagan Tosu from Japan. I have also heard rumors that they might be getting a club in Uruguay (due to the Suarez connection), and in Europe there’s talk of them signing with CF Valencia, AS Roma (quite likely) or Fiorentina.
