ROVERS TO MAKE FAST APPOINTMENT?

blackburn roversA new manager could be in place at Blackburn Rovers in time for their game against Stoke City at the weekend.

The club sacked Paul Ince on Tuesday after he recorded just 3 wins from his first, and only as it turned out, last 17 Premier League games in charge.

Former boss Graeme Souness is the bookmakers favourite to land the post with Sam Allardyce and Alan Curbishley also in the running. Midfielder Tugay is in the frame for some form of coaching role in any new regime.

John Williams, the club chairman, told reporters:

Ince sacked We will endeavour to have a new manager in place for Saturday’s game with Stoke City.

But there are no guarantees and we must ensure that we get the right man.
