Okay, so the title is something of a misnomer – Robbie Fowler is probably safe and sound, somewhere (we hope). But when this viral landed in our inboxes we had to share.
The former Liverpool striker is taken hostage by bookmakers Paddy Power, who – at the request of their fans – are hoping for some punditry that doesn’t straddle the fence.
Strapping the former England forward into an interrogation chair and lie detector, the Paddy Power agents seem to be getting somewhere with the man Liverpool fans jokingly referred to as “God”.
However, Fowler soon finds himself slipping into old pundit tropes, and the interrogators are forced to resort to more… drastic measures.
Paddy Power have been on a roll with their marketing recently, having just today announced they’re going to foot the £80,000 fine imposed on Danish frontman Nicklas Bendtner by UEFA for revealing his sponsored pants during the group stages of Euro 2012.
I’m confused?
We don’t “jokingly refer” to him as God. He is God!
