With the football season in full swing and the clocks about to wind back an hour, Puma are doing their best to help bring a little bit of brightness back onto football pitches across the county with the Puma PowerCat 1 – Orange / Purple.
Launching as the perfect counterpart to the evoSPEED 1.2 update that dropped yesterday, the new PowerCat colourway uses a mostly bold orange upper for a striking on-pitch look.
Contrasting that is the deep purple that picks out some of the key technologies on the boot, including the forefoot elements, heel counter and laces, and graphic white branding on the instep, lateral quarter and soleplate.
Designed around a dual concept of power and control, the Puma PowerCat 1 is designed to help amplify feel on the ball and boost striking power.
Exemplifying this is the 3D PST Duo on the forefoot. Whilst the last PowerCat’s 3D PST was designed exclusively for power, the PST Duo brings a double-density construction, designed with fins to add control to every touch and high-rebound rubber for improved power.
Adding to the sense of control is the K-Leather forefoot, for sumptuous feel on the ball and exceptional comfort. This contrasts to the midfoot quarter, which uses a lightweight synthetic for improved stability and reduced weight.
The PowerCat 1 also boots foot stability with an external heel counter that works seamlessly with the soleplate.
A bladed outsole configuration allows for exceptional traction and minimises stud pressure across the whole foot.
The Puma PowerCat 1 – Orange / Purple will be debuted by Cec Fabregas in the Champions League, who will lace them up for Barcelona’s match against Ajax tonight.

The new PowerCat 1 FG products in the orange and purple colourway will be on pitch tomorrow night and available in-store from the 1st of October 2013.
I think the powercat silo needs to be updated. I like this color combo.
