When Puma said that Cesc Fabregas wouldn’t be wearing the new Puma PowerCat 1 SL – we wondered whether the Spanish superstar might be angling for a switch to the new Puma King.
Little did we know that the Big Cat were readying something special for Cesc in the form of the Puma PowerCat 1 – Fabregas Signature!

Just as Puma have switched up the name for their signature Power line of boots (ditching 1.12 and simplifying it to 1) they’ve also released their first athlete-specific PowerCat in the form of this tasty Puma PowerCat 1 – Fabregas Signature.
Officially Yellow / Red / Blue, the Puma PowerCat 1 – Fabregas Signature is definitely an eye-catching combo of colours, and the perfect compliment to Barcelona’s Home and Away shirts, using the colours of the Camp Nou club’s kit and the Catalan flag in it’s design.
In addition to a bold colourway, the Puma PowerCat 1 – Fabregas Signature also uses a bold Inca-style bird motif on the instep and sole of the boot. Given Cesc’s choice of Aztec-inspired tattoos on his arms, we think the Spanish international will be more than happy with this design.
No stranger to bold graphic designs, Puma haven’t just made this a boot that looks different to your average PowerCat – it also uses some slightly different materials.
As we’ve see on other Graphical PowerCats like the Gravity, Tokyo and Elektro, the Puma PowerCat 1 – Fabregas Signature uses a fully synthetic upper, with Puma covering the whole boot in a hexagonal texture that improves friction on the ball.
As this is Fabregas’ signature boot, we can’t help but think this is a bit of a missed opportunity on Puma’s part, as they could have released the custom model Fabregas actually uses in games, with a King SL soleplate.
Debuting the Puma PowerCat 1 – Fabregas Signature in La Liga this past weekend, Fabregas duly christened his new cleats in style with a goal in Barca’s demolition of Athletic Bilbao at the Camp Nou.
What do you think of Fabregas’ new signature boot?

Pretty cool
ahh, i see, the tattoos. the graphics make sense now.
Those graphics are Pacific Northwest Indian and not Incan….just saying… 🙂
Where can i buy it online?
just got i a few days a go. This is a solid boot from puma, I’m still in breaking period with it. it fits true to size, good for wide foot players. It has great upper protection and overall durability. the inside part of the heel counter is hard to break in, got me slight blisters too at least from my point of view. The 3d pst tech is no nonsense, surely the best power boot so far. highly recommended.
