After a great first impression upon it’s launch last month, Puma have given their all-new speed boot a fresh coat of paint for the start of the new season.
Metallic White / Aged Silver / Red is the name of this rather fetching new colourway, and Puma are also using this new edition of the evoSPEED 1.2 to show off the leather option of their lightweight cleat.
Crafted in premium calfskin leather (as you might remember, Puma are one of the brands aiming to cut down on their K-Leather usage), so you’ll find an all new evoSPEED experience on the leather 1.2 when compared to the last generation.
As well as offering a softer touch on the ball, Puma have also reworked the upper to include elements of the GripTex 3D texture right into the leather for additional grip in tricky conditions.
In the soleplate, Puma have also thrown in some tweaks; the SpeedTrack re-enforced chassis offers a more stable ride in the midfoot and heel, whilst the forefoot DuoFlex keeps the boot responsive under the toes.
As for the colourway, this Metallic White / Aged Silver / Red' continues the evoSPEED 1.2 template of taking a classic base – in this case white – and adding a bold twist in the form of the red detailing.
Clean and simple, it definitely gets the thumbs-up from us; the aged silver branding on the instep and outstep compliments the metallic white nicely, and the red ‘pop’ certainly catches the eye.
Available to buy from mid-July, the Metallic White / Aged Silver / Red Puma evoSPEED 1.2' will set you back £165 (for the leather version) in the UK and $200 US.
