Puma unveil Arsenal’s new home kit for next season.

It’s year three for the partnership of Arsenal and Puma and we think this is the best design Puma have come up with so far for The Gunners.

The shirt is traditional with a red body and white sleeves a design which was first used back in 1925. This year the shirt also features a vertical stripe through the centre of the shirt which is in a darker shade of red.

There are two versions available, one called ‘performance’ which is an authentic copy of the shirts you’ll see on the players, the other a replica. The performance shirt is packed with technology, offers a tighter fit a dropped tail and longer sleeves with cuffs.

The new performance shirt will cost £95, versus £55 for the replica. For the extra money you get a shirt with PUMA’s new apparel technology ACTV Thermo-R, strategically inserted in both the front and the back of the shirt which helps maintain an optimum body temperature. Also, a unique phase-change material is injected into the shirts inner athletic tape, which allows microcapsules to absorb excess heat and release it back to the body when needed. The taping in the shirts provides an extra snug fit, micro-massaging the skin in specific areas to enable a faster, more effective energy supply to the active muscles.

Another detail. found on both versions, is on the back of the neck, where a heat transfer gothic letter “A”, inspired by the gothic font that featured on the club’s crest in the past, can be seen.

The shorts are white with a red band down the side, whilst the socks complete the kit in red with a white top band.

Whilst revealing the kit, Arsenal also confirmed Alexis Sanchez will wear the No 7 jersey next season, switching from his current No 17 shirt.

New signing Granit Xhaka will wear 16, Aaron Ramsey 8 and Petr Cech is thought to be given the No. 1 jersey.
