Nike have unveiled what is sure to one of their most popular home shirts of the World Cup tournament: Portugal!
After the great reception of their White away kit way back in February, we’ve been waiting eagerly to see what Nike would come up with for the Portugese home kit.
As expected, the new Portugal shirt is mostly the traditional colours of the Portuguese flag, Red and Green – with Nike going for a brighter ‘Sport Red’ than the more ‘Wine Red’ iterations of some of their previous kits.
It’s nice to see Nike integrating the colours in different ways to the more traditional designs, and this across-the-chest green stripe is a real winner for us – we especially like the gold detailing within the stripe.
Portugal have reached the knock-out stages of the last 3 major tournaments they’ve participated in – and fans will be hoping this new kit drives the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani and Pepe to help their national team make the big leap into the World Cup final!
For the die-hard, Nike have also released special ‘Pro’ editions of some of their new shirts – including Portugal’s. Each of these shirts are made to the exact ‘kit-room’ standards of the professional shirts that the Pro’s will wear this summer, and are supplied in an individually number presentation box – strictly Limited Edition!
These limited edition sets will run at £99.99

Great shirt but why is it that the long sleeve versions take so long to come out?
Personally, I would rather see countries use “local” clothing companies to make their kit. That would truly bring about a “world” feeling in the shirt industry.

Looks awesome, and can’t wait to see CR scoring goals in this kit! I like the packaging also, and good to see Nike are considering the environment with the eco-friendly materials they are using…
