Na Euro 2012 zapraszamy do Polski!!
UEFA President Michel Platini today announced the joint hosts for Euro 2012 will be Poland and Ukraine. The decision will come as a blow to Italy, who were seen as favourites to land the tournament, but it appears recent crowd troubles led to a change in direction, handing the honour to the Eastern European duo.
The Poland and Ukraine team had launched an impressive bid, featuring Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko, Liverpool keeper Jerzy Dudek, world heavyweight boxing champion Vitali Klitschko, former pole vault Olympic champion Sergei Bubka and Ukraine president Victor Yushchenko, which even won the backing of FIFA head Sepp Blatter.
Locations for the games include the cities of Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Gdansk and Wroclaw. It’s a great victory for Poland and Ukraine and football fans from around Europe will be looking forward to travelling to see their teams in action in these countries of diverse history, culture and traditions.
