Who would have though the humble Tiempo Legend would be the most interesting of the Nike Elite Series?
Nike’s Tiempo Legend‘s have always been a great boot for those who still want a classic looking football boot, but retain all the modern comforts.
So, if there was any football boot that was asking for an Elite Series refit, it was probably this one!
However, this retooling may not be what many expected: Alongside the full composite Carbon Fibre soleplate and lightweight structure the Tiempo Legend III Elite has been refitted with a KangaLite Upper.
Replacing the traditional K-Leather upper that has been synonymous with the series for years, the new KangaLite upper aims to retain the feel and ‘give’ of natural leather, and at the same time offer less water-retention and less weight
We can’t wait to see what this change feels like, as we loved the K-Leather of the ‘standard’ model – we want to know if the sacrifice has been worth it!
All this means that the football boot will be easier on heavy legs come the final minutes of the game – as is the focus of the Nike Elite Series!
The boot is made from Kanga-Lite synthetic leather with a stitching pattern made to improve control. This football boot features a special sockliner for ultimate comfort and a fold-down tongue and formed heel give players great cushioning and stability.
Aided by a carbon fiber sole unit, this retooled Elite Series version of this football boot is 16% lighter than the original version.
Technical specifics of the Nike Tiempo Legend III Elite include:
Contoured heel improves comfort and fit
Revolutionary Kanga-Lite synthetic leather
High-performance Molded PORON low-profile cushioning
Forefoot flex grooves for enhanced flexibility and natural, efficient range of motion
Full length thermoplastic composite carbon reinforced chassis
Direct Inject combination of elliptical and bladed TPU studs
Weight (US size 10): 258 grams, 16% lighter than it’s original statement boot
One aspect of the football boot we’re still unclear on is whether the Nike Football+ training program included with the boot will be the ‘Control’ scheme or not – but we’re hoping we’ll have that confirmed very shortly!
