Nike Tiempo Legend 7 | Everything you need to know

The new Nike Tiempo Legend 7 are one of the freshest boots on the market right now, with Nike Football sparing no expense when it comes to their performance technology.

Nike have managed to bulk up the Tiempo with their latest performance technology without gaining any weight compared to previous models. In fact, they’ve slashed the overall weight by 22%! So what has been added to these fiery beauties?

The Tiempo has gone from that ‘shy kid in the corner’, to the ‘give me your lunch money’, thanks to these stunning updates from Nike. The new colourway and modernised logo is just the tip of the iceberg!

Nike has introduced they’re popular Flyknit technology to the heel of the boots. I have to say that I’m a huge fan of the colours, which see’s the laser orange Flyknit blend nicely to the dark, premium leather upper.

The Flyknit across the midfoot encases flywire cable that can be adjusted to the player’s comfort, whilst the addition of this material to the tongue helps provide a cushioned feel atop the foot. An issue which is seen in football boots and general shoe releases is that over time and use the product will somewhat lose its shape, meaning the performance level drops significantly. Nike however, states that the use of their Flyknit technology will help maintain the shape of the boot, maximising performance.

As well as the Flyknit, Nike has added another neat little feature which makes its debut inside the Tiempo Legend. They’re newly developed Fit-Mesh, a material which helps prevent overstretching of the leather toebox. Acting like a Chinese finger trap, which still gives me the horrors to this day, meaning the more pressure that is applied, the tighter it holds. The plush feel of the Tiempo leads all the way to the heel, where articulated pods with a cushioned base, keep the foot in place with minimal movement during gameplay.

The Tiempo holds a unique 3D upper package, combining different elements giving you that ultimate feel and control. K-Leather decks to the top of the strike zone, with stitches becoming non-existent meaning 100% leather to ball contact. A foam skeleton like material sits below providing the rigid strike zones, with the Fit-Mesh lining added below to give that lock down fit.

The Tiempo is packed full of debut makers, with a brand new Hyperstability plate designed for multidirectional movements during play. This piece of performance technology is also the reason for the 60

This piece of performance technology is also the reason for the 60 grammes (22%) reduction in the weight of the boot, which is always a huge positive.

The plate itself comes with a selection of jagged conical studs, blades and chevrons, boosting traction and performance. This traction pattern, like all other Nike Football boots, was defined through Finite Element Analysis (FEA).

The boots are finished off with a new modern Tiempo logo, sitting on the laser orange heel counter. The new, improved Nike Tiempo Legend 7 boots are available now!
