After the ‘Flash Pack’ landed this time twelve months ago, the Swoosh are once again seeing out the year the only way they know how; with a sweet selection of football boots – the Nike Shine Through Pack.
Nike say that the new Shine Through Pack football boots draw inspiration from a number of sources, with the result aiming to turn heads once again, just as white football boots did when black boots were the norm in the 1970s.
“While white is sometimes thought of as the simplest of colors, we see it as the powerful result of overlapping primary colors.
It’s a bit analogous to how a player’s training, creativity and touch overlap to create powerful moments on the pitch that look deceptively simple.” – Max Blau, VP Nike Football Footwear
There’s also a connection to this being the end of a World Cup year, too. Nike say the main influence is the energy, atmosphere, and visuals that accompany New Year’s Eve celebrations in Brasil. White is the traditional color worn by those partaking in the festivities, with bright pops of accent colors.
Fittingly, the ‘pop’ colour choices are also evocative of the fireworks used to ring in the New Year, with flashes of yellow, green, blue and pink characterising the Nike Shine Through Pack football boots.
Nike also revealed that White is the second-most selected base colour on NikeiD, another factor that informed their creative choices on the Shine Through Pack – helping the brand understand that clean, classic White is still something that resonates with today’s players.
The Nike Shine Through Pack football boots land today on the Nike Football app, and will arrive on pitch for December’s first round of games – meaning most of Nike’s top players will slip into these new colourways this week.
