We love football boots. Big surprise, we know, but it’s out there.
Unfortunately, they don’t always make the most appropriate of footwear. They’re very specific. Weddings, court dates, a debutants ball; all occasions society deems inappropriate events to rock a pair of mouldies at.
Which is why we’re always a little bit interested whenever a company brings out a pair of shoes inspired by their footy boots; Umbro have done it before with the Speciali and adidas Sambas are always on-song.
But Nike have unleashed two new collections of Nike Sportswear footwear that are inspired by their headline releases this summer: the Magista and the Superfly.
And whilst we’re sure the majority of these shoes would be equally as unwelcome at a Weddings, court dates or debutants ball as an actual pair of Magistas or Superflys, these will make a statement piece when rocking them as streetwear or a conversation starter watching the games at the pub this summer.
The Mercurial and Magista collections feature Nike Flyknit and Lunarlon technologies, as well as aesthetic adornments such as metallic hues and translucent outsoles.
In these collections, football brilliance lives on through the men's and women's Nike Free Flyknit Chukka, Nike Air Max 1, Nike Roshe Run HYP, Men’s Nike Air Max 90 Jacquard, Nike Tiempo ’94, Women's Nike LunarElite Sky Hi Jacquard, women's Nike Air Max Thea Jacquard, and the new women's LunarTiempo Sky Hi.
Whilst we’re obviously immediately drawn to the Tiempo ’94’s in the two collections, we’re certainly not opposed to the Air Max’s and Roshe Run’s, either.
