Last week saw the relaunch of Nike’s signature Nike iD service at a snow-covered ceremony at Niketown London on Oxford Circus.
Star Power
Chelsea star John Obi Mikel was the focus of attention as he created his ideal football boots in a bespoke ID session with on-hand Nike design consultants .
Whipping up a custom pair of Nike T90 Laser III‘s, the powerful midfielder went for an understated black and white design with a splash of yellow on the Nike tick – not hugely dissimilar to the White/Black/Cyber colourway that launched earlier this year!
The Changes
The focus of the changes to the Nike iD service are focused around tweaking performance in their football boots to give the athlete the ultimate edge over their opponent
Putting players at the mercy of the design consultants means that your boots of choice will always be the perfect fit for your foot. Even if your feet are wide, or different sizes; the design team at the Nike iD studio will make sure you have the best fitting football boots possible.
Players visiting the Boot Room at Nike Town London are able to work with the NIKEiD design consultants to create their own bespoke pair of football boots. They can get measured for the right width fitting, pick a sole plate to match a surface, then select material, colour and embroider a unique iD.
Boots and apparel are fully customizable in the following ways:

We’ve been having some stunning suggestions coming in on our Adam Johnson Nike iD boots contest, so we know you guys have got high expectations for the new additions to the service – let us know what you think in the comments!
its good too see nike improving their service.
That’s all? No improvements to the online component? No improved shipping to other countries?
I’m not seeing actual changes to the service, all I’m seeing is a slight tweak of options offered on one boot or the other such as allowing each boot to be a different size. Am I missing something?
I event went to the nike ID site, went through customizing some CTR 360s and I can detect no difference.
Will you be able to get customised Superflys? And if yes, to what extent e.g made from a mould of your foot, soleplate configuration and how much would they be?
nothing new on online service….. meh!
Miadidas is kicking nike ids ass. The options in choosing colours are way better in miadidas. Nike id has to few alternatives.
So what’s the major change?????
xD
