NEYMAR, LUIZ, BERNARD & SILVA ‘DARE TO BE BRASILIAN’ IN NEW NIKE AD

Nike Dare to be Brasilian Campaign

As hosts of the World Cup this summer, all eyes will be fixed firmly on the Brasilian national team and its star players as we cross the precipice into a World Cup year.

Known for never shying away and being as boisterous on the field as they are off it are factors that the Selecao & Nike share in abundance, and Nike’s new ‘Dare to be Brasilian’ aims to capture that boundless energy and infectious love of the game.

At the core of the campaign is a – as is par for the course for the Swoosh – exceptional, visually enticing and playful short film that' features Neymar, Thiago Silva, David Luiz, Paulinho, Bernard, and members of the coaching staff, including Luiz Felipe Scolari (FelipĂŁo), which highlights the' players’ unique styles and attitudes on the pitch.

Ĺ›Dare to Be BrasilianĹĄ looks at the individual personalities and styles of Neymar, Silva, Luiz,' Paulinho, and Bernard, as well as the essence of their style of play, to create a visually stunning portrayal of the game through each player’s perspective.

In scenes unique to each player, we see the game through their eyes.' Neymar plays like a kid; Luiz runs over the competition as a superhero (courtesy of' Brasilian cartoonist Rafael Grampá); Silva is the ‘Godfather’ of the penalty box; Bernard is the fleet-footed midfielder in a land of giants; and Paulinho is the responsible one of the group.

There’s even a fun cameo from a Nike & Brasilian legend: the 1998 Brasil shirt.

Oh, and ‘R9’ Ronaldo shows up for a bit, too.

The film is absolutely great fun and is packed full of the creativity and flair we’re used to seeing from both Nike & Brasil in a World Cup year – and certainly whets the appetite for whatever the Swoosh have planned for their usual massive World Cup ad campaign.
