Arsenal’s stars have turned out in force to launch the new Arsenal home shirt for the 2011-12 season in this new Nike ad.
The video stars players Theo Walcott, Alex Song and Wojciech Szczesny – as well as club legend and assistant manager Pat Rice – talk about what it means to play for Arsenal, stepping out on the pitch at the Emirates and what they think defines the historic club.
There’s also some great shots of the new Arsenal home shirt being worn by the players, and some of the new training range on display too.
It’s also something of a landmark ad for Nike and young stopper Szczesny. The Polish international has played the majority of the season in Puma football boots – but keen spotters will have noticed the 21 year old has recently adopted the Nike CTR360 II as his cleats of choice. His appearance in this advert is enough to confirm Szczesny is now on Nike’s payroll.
We know that some of our friends on our Official Facebook page have said they’re not too keen on the design of the new Arsenal home shirt – does this video do anything to win you over?
For me it’s clean, simple and really nice. I will be purchasing a long-sleeved version.
