Everton boss David Moyes was left less than impressed by the additional officials on show in his sides Europa League match against AEK Athens despite the winning 4 – o scoreline.
Louis Saha saw red against AEK
The extra officials stand behind the two goal lines on the other side from the assistant referees running the touchlines in an attempt to improve officiating in and around the penalty area and to rule on whether the ball has crossed the line.
But the Scot was deeply unhappy that striker Louis Saha was sent off for raising his hands to an AEK player claiming that his man was fouled first. Moyes said:
It was a ridiculous kick the boy [Juanfran] has on Louis. It is amazing they see the small arm but don’t see the big kick – even with the extra officials.
We hope they get more decisions right than wrong and I didn’t think the referee had an awful lot of big decisions to make tonight, but I think one of those he missed was the initial incident.
We need to do everything we can to help the referees but if he was helped in the Louis Saha case then I think he was wrong.
that looks like last season’s everton kit, but pienaar is wearing F50i’s that were only released this season? :S did i miss something or am i trying to be smart and failing terribly? lol some clarification would be very much appreciated
It’s a good spot fifnho as the picture is from last season’s FA Cup final when Saha scored after just 25 seconds.
