Mizuno don’t dole out new colourways every month like some brands, but when they take the time to revamp one of their football boots, boy, do they do it well! Case in point: the new Mizuno Wave Ignitus II – White / Black / Gold.
Since launching in the summer, the' Mizuno Wave Ignitus II hasn’t had much to shout about in terms of new colourways, despite two stunning launch colourways.
But, here it is once again, in a very regal-looking White / Black / Gold. So often, the Ignitus range has been Mizuno’s ‘stand-out’ boot, with a series of bold and exciting colours gracing it’s K-Leather upper. Here on the Mizuno Wave Ignitus II – White / Black / Gold, however, it looks more like the incredible Mizuno football boots of times gone by – with the Wave Shinken II springing to mind.
Comfort
As with most Mizuno football boots, the' Mizuno Wave Ignitus II – White / Black / Gold are some of the most comfortable cleats on the market, with the triple-density heel section offering top-notch stability.
Being designed for Japanese orthotics also gives these cleats a very wide fit, perfect for anyone that struggles with more ‘average’-sized football boots, but also very accommodating to the standard foot if you buy half a size down.
Performance
The' Mizuno Wave Ignitus II – White / Black / Gold is a hybrid of power and lightweight performance.
The carbon fibre forefoot and versatile Mizuno ‘Wave’ stud system make these football boots feel exceptionally light on the foot, whilst high-rebound power zones and a deadly Mukaiten ‘no-spin’ panel offer a shooting ‘punch’ matched by few others on the market.
Value
Expect to pay around £120 for the Mizuno Wave Ignitus II – White / Black / Gold when they launch in early 2012 in Europe, with a Japanese release scheduled for mid-December.
