Middlesbrough striker Mido has undergone a hernia operation and will miss the remainder of the 2007 / 08 campaign.
The Egyptian, who’s been suffering from a long standing pelvic problem, joined the club from Spurs for £6m at the start of the season but has struggled his first year at the Riverside.
The 25 year old has started just 8 games for Boro and also was forced to miss the African Cup of Nations earlier this year.
The striker will now miss Middlesbrough’s final six Premier League games against Manchester United, his former club Tottenham, Bolton, Sunderland, Portsmouth and Manchester City.
