Manchester United v Roma
Manchester United have a comfortable two goal lead to start with at home this evening, but a first goal from Roma could upset the nerves of the United faithful.
A professional European performance by Manchester United in the first leg in Italy, has given the red devils a two-goal lead and the major advantage to progress.
Rio Ferdinand could make a comeback and face Roma, despite suffering a foot injury in the draw at Middlesbrough. Alex Ferguson will be making a late decision over Ferdinand’s fitness, but should he fail to pass a fitness test then either Gary Neville or Mikael Silvestre could return to the team after long lay offs.
Francesco Totti, the Roma captain, will miss tonight’s game. Totti injured a thigh muscle in the Serie A draw at Cagliari days before the first leg and missed the 2-0 first leg defeat.
Nemanja Vidic has a knee injury and is definitely not playing this evening, Ferdinand trained this morning, and Ferguson is hoping he is fit enough to feature tonight.
United look comfortable, but should Roma score things could become tight, particularly after the way United let Boro attack them at the weekend.
