Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson and his number two Carlos Queiroz have been charged by the FA.
The management duo were charged by the FA for improper conduct following their comments made after their FA Cup defeat at the hands of Portsmouth.
Ferguson called referee Martin Atkinson’s performance “not acceptable” and Queiroz went one further calling the ref “a disgrace”.
Ferguson went on:
The referee’s performance – well Keith Hackett (head referee) I think is in a nice comfortable position and does nothing really. I don’t think he makes a contribution to the refereeing performances in the country and I think that has to be addressed. I think that he’s not doing his job properly.
That guy will go and referee a game next week, no problem, you see time and time his favourites always get the games and I think that’s a disappointing factor.
Ferguson and Queiroz have until the 17th of April to respond to the charge.
