Reports linking him with the coaching job of Manchester City have been strongly denied by Luiz Felipe Scolari.
With Sven Goran Eriksson odds-on to lose his post at the end of the season, Scolari had been named as owner Thaksin Shinawatra’s preferred choice as the Swede’s replacement.
Scolari’s contract as coach of Portugal expires after Euro 2008 and as yet he has not discussed a possible extension with the Portuguese soccer federation.
However, Scolari has distanced himself from the speculation linking him with the City job, saying he would be happy to extend his contract with his current employers.
Portugal offers me everything I need,” Scolari told Portuguese public broadcaster RTP.
