Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, David Beckham. The biggest names in sport have often been honoured with their own bespoke logo, and now adidas have deemed that Lionel Messi is worthy of such an honour too, as this morning they revealed a new logo for their prize asset.
After nearly two years of market research to find the perfect logo to represent the Argentine ace, adidas have finally settled on this superhero-esque design.
Expected to feature on everything from lifestyle clothing to training apparel and football boots, you can bet this emblem will become a common sight on footy fans over the next few years.
To mark the reveal of the new Messi symbol, the record-breaking Barcelona talisman has spent the morning posting up videos on his personal Facebook page that represent his journey to footballing mega-stardom.
We reckon the new Messi logo looks pretty sharp, and would certainly look as good projected onto the Gotham skyline as it would on a pair of football boots!

I want to buy underwear with that logo on it 🙂
Is there any symbolic relevance to Messi aside from the “M” created by the negative space in the logo? Is there a number “10” somewhere in there that I’m not noticing?
