FOR SALE: LIVERPOOL & BENITEZ

After battling through to the semi-finals of the Europa League, Liverpool fans must have thought that things were looking up.

But following their midweek draw with Fulham, the heat is back on Benitez as he attempts to steer the Reds last minute stab at fourth place.

Off the pitch, the club has been put on the market. American owners Hicks and Gillett have confirmed they wish to sell the club and have installed a new chairman to oversee the sale.

Hicks and Gillett say there has been “numerous expressions of interest” and have asked Barclays Capital to advise them and help with the sale.

Benitez Off

Whilst the ownership of the club is being organised,'  the management situation is also unsettling the squad.

Benitez’s agent was spotted in meeting with Juve’s chairman Jean Claude Blanc, and was forced to admit to the press “I have met (Juventus chairman) Jean Claude Blanc, even if I was in Italy for other affairs,” said Manuel Garcia Quillon.

Quillon has previously announced that the mystery surrounding Liverpool’s monetary status is a factor that is in the mind of Benitez

Benitez also lost one of our very own approval polls 2 months ago: when we asked the question “should Rafa be allowed to continue as Liverpool manager?” over 1000 of you said he was unfit for the post – as opposed to 644 who wanted him to stay on.

Will Juve fans welcome Rafa? Or as a Liverpool fan would be sad to see him go? Are you glad the American duo are on their way?

    Hi
As a liverpool fan I am very pleased with the news today! the yanks are selling up an i think a new owner and manager would be a clean start.
I feel Rafa is running out of ideas as to how to take the club further.
I do not belive it is entierly his burden to bear, he has had to wheel an deal in the transfer market, yes he has spent money but he has had to sell befor buy for most of it.
