Liverpool pair Gerrard and Torres were on target again as Liverpool power past Blackburn.

Liverpool dominated a first half where the highlight was a Liverpool penalty appeal when Gerrard looked to be taken down by Brad Friedel.

It took an hour, but then Gerrard made the breakthrough. Gerrard charged goalwards, played a one-two with Lucas before pushing past the Rovers defence to coolly finish
Torres got his 30th of the season with 8 minutes left. Gerrard’s cross was met by the Spaniard with a tidy header making it 2-0 Liverpool.

The game was sewn up on 90 minutes when Andrei Voronin met Riise’s cross and slid the third home.

A consolation was picked up by Roque Santa Cruz who volleyed in, but it was too little, too late.
