Tottenham will be without their captain Ledley King for the remainder of the season as he attempts to overcome a long running knee injury.
England defender Ledley King has made just ten appearances for Spurs this season and it has been confirmed that he will take no further part in the final six games of this campaign.
King, 27, has battled ongoing knee problems for the past 18 months, but he did return to the side as Tottenham lifted the Carling Cup in February.
Ledley King said:
My knee is actually feeling good at the moment and there is no inflammation, but we have to look at the bigger picture and accept that this is an ideal point in time to recover further, get best advice and make sure that I come back fitter.
They are six games I could well have taken part in, but we all believe this is worth doing for the longer term benefit.
