adidas have acquired the services of Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs in a surprises coup for the Three Stripes.
Having been a career-long member of Team Nike, Gibbs took to Twitter last night to show off the new adidas football boots he’ll be wearing from here on out:

Previously a wearer of the CTR360 and – more recently – the Tiempo Legend V, Gibbs’s move into the adidas f50 will likely come as surprise for more than one reason.
After two more substantial football boots, a pair of lightweight ‘speed’ boots for the f50 will represent a change in boot ‘style’ for the young full-back as well as a change in brand.
Additionally, Gibbs has shown no indication of his time with Nike coming to an end. There have been no black-out or unbranded boots – unlike his team-make Aaron Ramsey.
We’d like to think that Gibbs agreed a switch date with adidas and simply left his Nike boots ‘as-is’, not worrying about giving the Swoosh some airtime – now that’s our kind of player.
Another shock will be that PUMA didn’t make a move for the Gunner – having an impressive roster of players in the Big Cat at the Emirates stadium to match their flagship kit sponsorship.
The move makes a lot of sense for adidas at an international level, however, as adidas have begun to lack presence in the England squad.
With Gibbs joining Luke Shaw and Leighton Baines in the Three Stripes, it now seems that whoever Roy Hodgson picks at Left-Back – they’ll be wearing adidas football boots.
